HBASC Committees

Government Affairs

The Government Affairs Committee advocates for the home building industry. Meetings are held monthly, and sometimes more often if needed. Committee members must be willing to be well-informed on issues affecting builders on the local, state, and national levels. They must be willing to report issues to the committee, help inform our members and local leaders by attending meetings, and preparing and submitting written comments to various agencies and governing bodies.

Education

The Education Committee facilitates personal and professional development opportunities for our members and communities. Committee members identify options such as workshops, seminars, and other trainings, then plan, advertise, and produce the events.

Youth Investments

The Youth Investments Committee maintains a working relationship with local educators to identify and implement scholarship opportunities for students seeking education in the construction industry. Committee members are responsible for the scholarship application process,  administering scholarship funds, selecting scholarship recipients, and attending award ceremonies. The committee also maintains required documentation of scholarship funds.

Member Relations & Communications/Marketing

The Member Relations part of the committee cultivates and maintains relationships with the members of the HBASC. Meetings are held on a monthly basis and additional work sessions may be called as needed. Opportunities and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, calling new and renewing members, understanding member benefits, building membership packets, conducting member recognition and appreciation programs, and planning and implementing membership drives. The Communications/Marketing part of the committee provides current, interesting, and relevant information for the HBASC’s media channels. Responsibilities include overseeing public relations, such as the creation of promotional materials, articles, newsletters, and other forms of communications.

Programs

The Programs Committee plans the educational component of HBASC monthly dinner meetings. The committee identifyies and schedules quality presentations that promote, support, and enhance the building industry. The committee also identifies sponsors for programming events. Meetings are held on an as-needed basis.

Parade of Homes

The Parade of Homes Committee plans and executes our premiere event of the year. Our most active committee, the Parade of Homes highlights the skills and expertise of all our members.
